Why does Peter Walsh refer people to you for organizing services?
At this time it is difficult for Peter to take on everyone that is interested in his services and give them the attention that they need. Peter explains it best on his FAQ page at Peter Walsh Design, but basically it is due to his crazy schedule of media appearances, TV show tapings, book writing and other important spread-the-word-of-getting-organized activities.
Peter has chosen me as one of only a few select organizing companies and consultants across America, that he knows personally and trusts their approach to helping others get organized.
I had the opportunity to work with Peter on an episode of the Oprah Winfrey Show, in January 2008 (Does This Clutter Make My Butt Look Fat, Season 22 Episode 109 aired on 2/7/08). While working as an organizing consultant in my previous business, A Sense of Home, I had the honor of leading the team of six organizers who collaborated with Peter.
Our work created a phenomenal transformation for a Bay Area family that was televised on the national talk show to support his new book, "Does This Clutter Make My Butt Look Fat?". Here is a little blip from the former Oprah Winfrey Show about the episode we worked on. Unfortunately, detailed information is no longer available now that TOW is gone.
How did you begin working with Peter Walsh?
It all began in 2005 while I was co-chairing the world's second-largest organizing conference. Peter Walsh, then of TLC's Clean Sweep fame, was invited to be the keynote speaker. Peter accepted and during that time he and I began an easy friendship with our similar approach to organizing and a shared passion for moving the organizing industry forward.
How do I know that you will help me the same way that Peter Walsh would?
I subscribe to the same philosophy that being disorganized or overwhelmed with clutter is not about the “stuff”.
Of course we have to manage the “stuff” during the process, but I also help you deal with the underlying reasons for your current situation. My goal, just as Peter says, is to help you live a “richer, fuller life with less stuff”. Not only am I able to provide hands-on services to assist you in managing your belongings, I also consistently work with you to encourage a consciousness in every decision you make. From making a purchase, to taking on an additional responsibility, accepting a family heirloom, or deciding when to let go, I teach techniques that alter behaviors and help get you on a path to living a life with less stuff and more meaning.
Will you put all my belongings out on the lawn like Peter Walsh does on his TV shows?
